VALUE MEETS ENGINEERING
RIOT has long been one of B2 Audio’s most widespread and trusted series, spanning amplifiers, speakers, and subwoofers — all known for delivering unmatched value without compromising performance. The latest evolution of the 10″ subwoofer continues that legacy, now built on the same advanced platform as the Rampage 10.
At its core is our SAFT (Smooth Airflow Tech) basket design, engineered to reduce turbulence and improve airflow around the motor and suspension. The spider landing has been expanded to support greater excursion, allowing the 4‑layer progressive‑roll spider to operate with less mechanical stress and reduced noise, even at high output levels.
While many brands downsize components in their budget‑friendly models, we went the opposite direction. The RIOT 10 is upscaled with a full 3″ motor platform and a conservative 1000‑watt power rating, ensuring long‑term reliability and thermal stability. Its dual‑slug motor system features both pole venting and additional ventilation ports for the voice coil, maximizing cooling efficiency during extended high‑power use.
The result is a subwoofer that delivers the hallmark RIOT value — but with engineering and performance far beyond what its class typically offers.
THE U
Smaller subwoofers are inherently more sensitive to reductions in cone area. With less physical surface to move air, every millimeter of usable Sd becomes critical. In many compact‑class designs, manufacturers compensate by increasing excursion, accepting the trade‑off of less cone area in exchange for more stroke. While this approach can work, it often introduces its own limitations: higher mechanical stress, increased distortion at peak travel, and a narrower window of linear performance.
Instead of sacrificing cone area, the narrower U‑shaped surround profile maximizes it, the RIOT 10 preserves a significantly larger Sd compared to typical 10‑inch designs with oversized surrounds. This allows the driver to maintain the cone area needed for impactful low‑frequency output, while still offering ample excursion for dynamic performance. The result is a more efficient transfer of energy into the air — more output per watt, more authority per stroke.
The surround itself is paired with a lightweight yet rigid paper cone, chosen for its natural damping characteristics and responsiveness. The dual‑color stitched surround not only reinforces durability but visually signals the RIOT 10’s intent: a subwoofer built to deliver real performance, not just spec‑sheet numbers.Â
