The Rampage subwoofers are nothing short of legendary. They’ve been imitated countless times, yet never conquered. This subwoofer isn’t just for anyone—it’s for those who demand to be at the top of the food chain and settle for nothing less than absolute supremacy.
THE EVOLUTION OF AN ICON
The seeds for the RAMPAGE were planted back in 2012, evolving from the legendary and innovative X2C subwoofer with its 5″ voice coil. Although the RAMPAGE is based on a 4″ coil platform, it not only pays homage to its heritage but also pushes the boundaries even further.
The new basket design provides better cooling with enhanced SAFT (Smooth Air Flow Technology) and features an increased XMAX compared to the previous basket design. With a peak-to-peak excursion of 3.15″ (80 mm) made possible by using 254 mm (10″) spiders on this 12″, you can create significant flex with reduced distortion. All the small details in these hand-built marvels come into play once you start pushing limits.
WIDEBODY
The OCAF Version II (Optimized Cooling and Flow), integrated into the new motor design, accommodates the large flares from the X2C’s backplate. Furthermore, the pole piece is equipped with a dual cooling system that effectively directs air away from the voice coil. Despite having a 4″ internal diameter, the 4.33″ outer diameter classifies this coil as a widebody. The 8-layer tall winding design is engineered for everyday use and long demo days, effortlessly handling intense audio demands.
The motor of the RAMPAGE maintains the same 10.24″ diameter as previous XM subwoofers, but the triple stack true Y35 grade ferrite slugs have been increased by 25%. Even with this enhancement, we have successfully kept the overall motor height only 10% taller than the 2nd generation XM. The extended Xmech utilizes this additional height, further enhancing performance.
