Introducing the RAGE8 CFM, a new product built on a slim platform and designed to be weatherproof. Ideal for motorcycles, marine applications, ATVs, and side-by-sides, these speakers feature genuine carbon fiber cones and Santoprene surrounds to endure harsh weather conditions. Despite their durability, they maintain the exceptional sound quality of the RAGE Pro series.
THE CFM
The popularity of the RAGE P led us to develop a slimline series, with the added benefit of being weatherproof. The RAGE CFM was created based on our customers’ feedback, seeking something beyond the ordinary. However, considerations such as depth, weight, and the beloved B2 audio sound remain significant factors.
Despite the challenge of designing a 8″ PA speaker with a broad frequency response (60 Hz ~ 10 KHz) that includes lower frequencies, the CFM’s custom-tooled waterproof Santoprene surround enhances efficiency and linearity resulting in a more competent loudspeaker.Â
TRADEOFFS
CFM – Carbon Fiber Marine, Motorcycle, Mobile. All applications fit this acronym. Rather than opting for coated fiberglass cones, the pricier Carbonfiber helps reduce the MMS (the weight of the speaker’s parts mounted in the speaker) which must be lightweight while still incorporating quality parts. Carbon fiber, as opposed to fiberglass, is superior and when combined with the dual U-shaped Santoprene surround, we have both a weatherproof speaker and the optimal components to achieve our desired audible response.
The RAGE CFM series continues to use copper shorting rings to maintain low distortion, ensuring you won’t grow weary of listening to these speakers even during extended periods of use. The added advantage of their slim design makes them ideal for fitting into nearly any installation without needing to consider mounting depths, as it is only 2.67″ / 68 mm.Â
